The primary color experts have done their annual color analysis and forecasting and have selected the 2021 Color of the Year for fashion and home.
These color pros understand that staying healthy in mind and body is a top priority. We are all spending more time at home, causing a desire to “nest.” Our kitchens have become more than cook spaces; they are also home offices, remote learning zones, and even family board game areas.
2021 Color of the Year Predictions by Benjamin Moore
When selecting the 2021 Color of the Year, the Benjamin Moore team focused on grounded and rooted colors to bring stability during an uncertain time
Aegean Teal 2136-40 is a rich blend of blue-green and gray. The tranquil nature of blue with green’s associated with wellness while a gray undertone keeps the Color modern. It is a natural hue that reflects balance and is deep and comforting. Aegean Teal is the perfect Color for settling in and nesting.
Benjamin Moore Color Trends 2021 Palette
Benjamin Moore Color chose their palette of organic sunbaked hues as they felt they would nourish and comfort the spirit. Aegean Teal 2136-40 and the corresponding Colour Trends 2021 palette express a welcoming, lived-in quality that celebrates the connections and real moments that take place within the home,” says Andrea Magno, the director of color marketing and development at Benjamin Moore, in the press release.
The twelve shades in the palette make you think of simple pleasures and make you want to nest in the comfort and safety of your home.
If you are thinking of refreshing your dwelling, grab a paintbrush, and slather this Color on your cabinets or paint it on the walls. It will look fabulous with white due to the contrast. Easy ways to refresh your space.
2021 Color of the Year Predictions by Pantone: A.I Aqua
The Pantone Color Institute studies color trends throughout the year to decide on the next year’s Color. They consider all aspects of culture: fashion, marketing, social media, technology, and politics.
The Pantone 2021 Color of the Year palette has many brights, but the primary colors are neutrals (as we saw last year), and its Color of the year is Al-Aqua.
Pantone Color of the Year 2021, A.I Aqua
A.I. AQUA is the star of the palette and is expected to be huge in fashion and home design this year. The company says that this hue is inspired by technology and that it works on the human psychological, helping us concentrate on intense activities. Blue is a color that subdues the hormones encouraging sleep while also making you feel more focused and energetic.
“Offering a range of shades illustrative of nature, colors for Spring/Summer 2021 underscores our desire for flexible Color that works year-round. Infused with a genuine authenticity that continues to be increasingly important, colors for Spring/Summer 2021 combine a level of comfort and relaxation with sparks of energy that encourage and uplift our moods,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone® Color Institute.
2021 Color of the Year Predictions by Sherwin Williams
Sherwin Williams 2021 Color of the Year is rooted in nature; it is expected to create a feeling of calm and bring all you cherish together.
Sherwin Williams Color of the Year 2021: URBANE BRONZE/ SW 7048 (245-C7)
Symbolizing the richness of stone, metal, and wood, URBANE BRONZE furnaces a sense that is grounded, meditative and serene.
Urbane Bronze painlessly delivers a feeling of warmth and comfort. It is an uplifting substitute and counterpart to gray, the tone combines gorgeously with pale woods, rich leathers, metals, and minimalist natural stone hues.
I believe that all three of these color influencers are correct in their predictions.
Top designers and ad design magazines are starting to guide their clients away from the cool greys and whites of the last few years. We see more warmth to the greys, more of a grange, a mix of greys and beige. Natural elements are desired, and we see natural wood cabinets making a comeback.
On the other side, we all need a little excitement in our lives, Color makes us feel alive. Thus, the aqua tones selected by Benjamin Moore and Pantone are sure to be massive hits. I know, for one, am thrilled as Aqua is my favorite color ever.
