Simple Kitchen Remodel

“Marina, we need a good designer to help us do a simple kitchen remodel”

That was the beginning of a conversation with Marina, “The Design Matchmaker” and David and Jacke Gross.

Kitchen Remodel

The goal was to do a fairly simple kitchen remodel that would better utilize the current layout and develop the best space plan for the kitchen cabinets and appliances.

They wanted a new kitchen, that would be “organic” to the rest of the house as they wanted it to blend in naturally with the other areas.

As you can see by the before photos,  even though the existing kitchen had a large window and a glass patio door it was still very dark.

The Gross’s did not want a lot of bells and whistles – just good solid design and a kitchen that functions well for them.

The unused desk area was formed into a pantry closet, which now holds all small appliances that used to be kept on top of the existing cabinets.

We cleared out the non functioning and tight entrance to the dining room by moving the existing refrigerator to another wall.

We got rid of the existing pendants and added recessed cans that lit up the kitchen space more efficiently. We removed the existing soffit and gained space for taller upper cabinets.

Just like the clients requested, all of the finishes are very neutral and warm.  The new kitchen truly has become an integral part of their house.

Without a doubt, this simple kitchen remodel reflects the dreams and desires of its owners.

“Marina, thank you for matching us to Oksana! Hiring her to help us design and update our 33-year-old kitchen was one of the best decisions we have ever made.  She is a wonderful listener and took our preferences and budget into account during every phase of the renovation.  She has an incredible eye for color, style, and composition.  She guided us when we felt lost and allowed us to make our own decisions when we felt confident.  Our new kitchen is absolutely fantastic!  We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with her, and we are looking forward to future projects with her.”  Dave & Jackie Gross, Littleton, CO

Oksana is one of many designers that were selected by Marina Dagenais to be the experts that she represents as “The Design Matchmaker”.
